I just had to ventilate the fact that Sweden since yesterday agrees to be a federal state of the european union. It is interesting that already today the news about the voting is far away from the spotlight of the newspapers (the link above is right now when I write this about the third “headline” from the bottom of the frontside of the newspaper, out of close to 40 headlines). It looks like the government has learned it’s lesson and have regained some control (however temporary) over media. Over at knuff.se (a homepage that keeps track of what people blogg about), however, it is evident that the news is highly debated, and today it appears to be the most discussed topic by far. Many, like hax, are very negative and thinks that the ratification is against our constitution. Many people ask why there wasn’t a referendum. I can only agree, it’s not like this outcome won’t affect us for a long time, and hax has frequently reminded us of how rotten the democrazy is down on the continent.
It is strange that everything is so quiet about this issue. With little else to go on I have to question if this is a response to Irland’s referendum (the only referendum there’s been on this issue) that turned out negative and that the people in power are trying to keep the debate from gaining momentum in all ways possible. Or maybe I’m just paranoid. It is just crazy that something this big is about to happen without the support of the people. (Maybe the people supports it but no one will know since no one is allowed to vote about it).
Also, through copyriot I was reminded of the fact that it is “No Music Day” today. I realized that I didn’t do well, at all, when I found myself listening to some songs on my computer over breakfast. The rest of the day was better but it is a tough, and thought provoking, challenge.
